ready.set.go.

Lately I have been feeling more nervous about THE mission. Mentally I am getting tripped up by silly, vain things. I don't like that. I know that I haven't been spiritually preparing myself as much as I should to this point. I don't like that either. So. Here I go. I am committing here and now to do a few things

1. one FULL hour of BOM+PMG study a day. with personal prayer to start
2. listen to Chinese of some kind (youtube video most likely) at least once a day
3. read 1 Corinthians 13 everyday
4. read my PB once a week

Take that Satan.

Things

These things are awesome.

(1) The picture on the front of the official missionary packet looks like Saddam Hussein's baptism.

(2) The girl on the front of the newest Vampire Weekend album looks like Ali from the Bachlorette.

(3) I keep listening to Tenderness by General Public. 80's love. I youtubed it today only to find that the music video takes the song to a whole new level. Watch the video.

(4) Nylons are no longer required in the mission field and knee-length skirts...well bring them on because they are allowed.

A few letters...

Dear Life,
Don't change too much while I'm gone. I get anxious just thinking about change. Please PLEASE do your best to be the same when I get back. I hope to be different in a good way but you -life- should NOT change.
Love,
Bekah

Dear Taiwan,
What kind of shoes do I bring? I'm told you are hot, cold, wet, and sweaty. Are you really?
Love,
Bekah

Dear pink-in-my-hair,
Your time is almost up.
Love,
Bekah

Dear Cute Khaki Skirt,
I need you and I don't know where to find you.
Love,
Bekah

Dear SYTYCD,
You were at your best last night. I love Kent and Lauren. Yes. I. Do.
Love,
Bekah

Dear Henry Drummond,
I have a crush on you. Thank you for being a literary genius.
Love,
Bekah

Kids Camp Convos

So I have been helping Mere out with her kids camps the past few days and phew; remind me to never have 12 kids. Anyways, some of the conversations that I have overheard have been hilarious but the one below was one of my favorites. It was all said in a very matter-of-fact way.

Stu: "Mere! Ask Abe what he did on the way to kids camp today."

Abe: "I went through the sprinklers"

Mere: "Oh is that why you are so wet?"

Abe: "Uh huh. And and and ... I peed."

Mere: "On the side of the road?"

Abe: "No in a bush."

Stu: "Ya because you don't want pee on the tires of your car."

Abe: "Ya!"

p.s. saw eclipse. still deciding how I feel about it.
